What are Polyurea concrete coatings?
Polyurea, also known as Polyaspartic, is a type of elastomer created with step-growth polymerization of synthetic resin and an isocyanate component. It is often used as an alternative coating to epoxy or resin for concrete or steel. Due to its chemical makeup, polyurea is more resistant to water, heat, and other chemicals than epoxy, making it the superior choice to protect floors.
Does my concrete coating come with a warranty?
Yes, Premier Concrete Solutions is proud to provide a 15-year warranty to protect your floors and your investment. The warranty covers any chipping, blistering, or peeling of the coating. Cracks or separation from the concrete substrate or settling are not covered.
Can I apply polyurea coatings myself?
Polyurea is the best concrete coating on the market due to its durability and versatility, but only when it’s applied correctly. Our team is expertly trained not only in the polyurea coating process but also in floor preparation to ensure your coating adheres and cures properly. With Premier Concrete Solutions’ chip flake design options available in 24 colors, you’ll enjoy the appearance of your new floors for years to come.
Is it slippery?
Although our floors are slip-resistant with better coefficient of friction properties than standard concrete, they are not slip-proof because no floors are slip-proof. The anti-stain and sealant properties may make the floor slippery when wet. Please use caution during these conditions.
Will they stain?
Our floors are stain-resistant and easy to clean. However, they are not stain-proof. The floors should be cleaned regularly per our cleaning guidelines. Materials that may stain the floor should be removed quickly. PRO TIP: Avoid leaving planter boxes or wet mats directly on the floor for long periods of time.
How do concrete coatings handle extreme exposure to Texas heat, sun, and temperatures?
For patios, pool decks and driveways we recommend resealing the topcoat every 3-5 years. Why? Texas sun is brutal. Even though polyaspartic coatings are highly UV-resistant, resealing helps maintain gloss, color, wear/tear, and surface integrity.
How do I prepare for my Premier Concrete Solutions floor coating?
To prepare for your floor coating by Premier Concrete Solutions’ professional coating specialists, follow these steps to ensure the best possible outcome. Mainly, you’ll need to clear away the items on your floor before our team arrives. This includes any vehicles, stored possessions, and shelving. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to a member of our team prior to your appointment.
How much do concrete coatings from Premier Concrete Solutions cost?
On average, a typical 2 car garage can range from $2500-$2800 for our high-quality polyurea/polyaspartic chip flake systems, depending on the existing concrete’s condition. Add-ons such as surface removal, vertical component, or repairs may add to baseline costs.
